Adding up hate crimes is a misleading rite

But exaggerating or manipulating the hate crime statistics doesn't help anyone. And the real news about hate crimes in Orange County isn't that there are so many.

The real news is that, in a county as diverse as ours, there are so relatively few.

You won't read this in the LA Times.
